On May 26, XXXTENTACION’s estate will release the late rapper’s Look At Me documentary in collaboration with Hulu. The nearly two-hour documentary takes viewers on a wild ride through X’s childhood and rapid rise to superstardom as a teenage SoundCloud sensation.

“I think it’s a very special type of courage and service that artists do to put someone struggling very openly on a stage and offer it up for public consumption,” director Sabaah Folayan told Billboard. “[XXXTENTACION] was candid about his problems. He didn’t necessarily win his battle before we lost him, but he provided us with a forum to discuss mental health and his internal struggle.”

XXXTENTACION, born Jahseh Onfroy, had troubling legal issues relating to domestic violence altercations from his 2016 relationship with ex-girlfriend Geneva Ayala, which accumulated to 15 felonies by 2018. The documentary does not shy away from his demons, and Ayala’s voice is prominent throughout.

Aside from Cleopatra Bernard’s commentary, look for cameos from X’s Hip Hop friends and collaborators such as Trippie Redd, Joey Bada$$, Ski Mask the Slump God, and Juice WRLD.

On June 18, 2018, at the age of 20, the “Moonlight” rapper was tragically killed while leaving the parking lot of Riva Motorsports in Deerfield Park, Florida, when a pair of armed gunmen approached his car and fatally shot X.

His legacy has only grown in the afterlife, where he earned his first No. 1 hit on the Billboard Hot 100 with “SAD!” shortly after his death. The final album by X,?, has now spent four years on the Billboard 200.
