On Wednesday, Rod Stewart was “absolutely gutted” to cancel his 200th Las Vegas residency event.
Illness forced the 79-year-old musician to cancel his The Hits event at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace hours before the show.
He posted on Instagram, “I’m desperately sorry to miss this 200th show celebration.”
“Most people can work with strep throat, but not me. I’m devastated. I’ve eagerly anticipated this concert.

I sincerely apologize for any inconvenience. Thank goodness we’ll return in 2025. See you there.”
Bacterial strep throat creates an itchy throat.

Wednesday’s 200th commemoration performance was intended to end Stewart’s 13-year stint at the venue.
Fans of the British singing legend had excellent news.

Stewart confirmed a spring 2025 Las Vegas tour.
The Maggie May singer tweeted, “Vegas, I’m having too much fun for this to end so we are coming back for an encore!” before his illness was reported.
