Offset has stated that he is not connected to Takeoff or Quavo biologically.

The rapper paid respect to his late Migos bandmate Takeoff, real name Kirsnick Khari Ball, who died last November after being shot outside a bowling alley in Houston, Texas, during an interview with Variety released on Wednesday.

Furthermore, Offset, real name Kiari Kendrell Cephus, said that while he has frequently referred to Quavo, 32, as his “cousin,” they are not related.

Offset and Quavo, Takeoff’s uncle, really met in sixth grade at school.

In another part of the interview, the hip-hop sensation revealed how hanging out with his friends at Quavos’ house led to the development of their characteristic “triplet flow.”

He also stated that as a child, he had no desire to be a performer.

“I started off as a child doing this s**t on accident,” the 31-year-old insisted, recalling the chances he had as a child. “‘Hey, when the music plays, dance!’ said my mother.” I’m eight years old and I’m chosen to participate in a Whitney video. That’s significant.”

He went on, “So that’s a reminder: I always think of my past to remind myself, ‘This s**t is gonna be fine.'” That’s how I keep my money. That’s how I know I’ll be amazing.”
