Celebrities can fall into the social media abyss just like anyone else. During a guest visit on The Skinny Confidential Him & Her Podcast, Scarlett Johansson affirmed this.
The Black Widow star discussed her lack of personal social media profiles during her interview with hosts Lauryn Evarts Bosstick and Michael Bosstick.
She claimed, “I honestly am too vulnerable a person to be on social media. I have a fragile psyche. I’m unable to handle it. I’m like a delicate flower; my intellect is too delicate. I’m anxious enough already.
She also admitted that after creating an Instagram account, she erased it within three days.
I just wasted 17 minutes of time, and now I feel like I should move to California, get this specific dog, and change my life in all these ways, she said. “When I started realizing that I’d spent 20 minutes looking at somebody’s Instagram page who worked for a friend of mine—I now know you have a pit bull, two daughters, and live in Burbank—I’m like, ‘I just wasted 17 minutes of time,'” she continued. “I felt awful because I felt as though I was missing out on this person’s existence. This is something I cannot do. I’m too vulnerable, and I worry too much about other matters.
Johansson acknowledged that she occasionally uses social media to manage her skincare company, The Outset, despite not having her own profiles. She must nevertheless exercise restraint when using TikTok to avoid becoming “completely absorbed.”
She remarked, “That’s how I know I can’t have it.
